Let's try someplace new! I had a nice stroll through Memorial Park in Beacon NY and it seemed easy to access with plenty of parking. Not huge, but as long as there are no big events going on we should have plenty of space to do out thing, and there are many lovely trees there.
Masks are now optional during the event, but I ask that we all maintain adequate social distancing. I will be wearing my mask as I greet everyone, and get the usual waivers signed. (I am fully vaccinated with my second booster.)
When: Saturday, June 18th 10a-12p. Please arrive at least 5 minutes early.
Beacon Memorial Park - parking lot entrance is on Route 52/Fishkill Avenue. This is right across the street from Ron's Icecream (298 Fishkill Ave, Beacon, NY 12508).
We will meet at the parking lot - look for the weird guy in a sun hat and perhaps my Hudson Valley Forest Therapy sign.
While there are technically bathrooms at this location, they are typically closed except for special events, so I would plan with the assumption of no public bathrooms here.
As a welcome back to my first formal session of the season I am discounting my usual fees (usually $25 per person):
- Anyone who has attended one of my sessions in the past need only pay $5 to help with supplies.
- New visitors need pay only $10
(As always if you are having difficulties paying see me privately and don't sweat it.)
We will be based in a quiet corner of the park and you will be walking around the trees on that hill. Feel free to bring some food and/or snacks for after the event. Looks like a nice spot for a picnic!
All participants must sign a simple liability waiver at the start of the event to allow us peace of mind in offering out outings to the public.
Note: Since this location is a little out of my way, I will cancel if we have under 3 RSVPs. I will check on weather concerns Friday. So far the day is fine with chance of rain in the evening, but it's too early to know for sure. I am fine with rain but since most people cancel I will reschedule if the rain risk is high.
